Every Way to Experience Pohnpei

Surfers, divers, explorers, adventurers, scientists — everyone finds something here. Pick an experience below, or contact us to build a custom itinerary that combines a few.

Surf

Pohnpei is home to more than 15 surfable reef passes, including the legendary Palikir Pass (P-Pass). Most days bring clean, playful 2–6 ft waves and uncrowded lineups — a trip built around variety and empty peaks, not just chasing the one big swell.

Snorkel

Drift over coral gardens at P-Pass, swim with black-morph manta rays at Manta Road, or venture out to the pristine reefs of Ahnd Atoll. Every trip is guided by local captains who read the day’s tides to find the best spot on the island.

Dive

Quieter than Chuuk’s wrecks or Yap’s manta crowds, Pohnpei’s dive scene is coral gardens, drop-offs, and reef sharks — with Ahnd Atoll’s 100-ft-visibility walls and Manta Road’s resident black beauties as the signature sites.

Nan Madol

Step into one of the Pacific’s great mysteries — a megalithic city of basalt islets and canals built by the Saudeleur dynasty, often called the “Venice of the Pacific.” Reach it by van with a stop at Kepirohi Waterfall, or by boat through mangrove channels.

Ahnd & Pakin Atoll

AHND ATOLL

A privately protected UNESCO Marine Biosphere Reserve 10 miles offshore, Ahnd is often the highlight of a Pohnpei trip — a full day of diving, snorkeling, and beach time in one of the Pacific’s healthiest, most untouched marine environments.

PAKIN ATOLL

Pohnpei’s most remote outer atoll, 30 miles offshore — an open-ocean day of diving, snorkeling, and fishing along untouched reef walls, with the occasional left-hander for surfers when conditions align. Truly off the beaten path.

Explore Pohnpei

Beyond the water, Pohnpei is jungle waterfalls, mangrove paddles, WWII history, and local culture — plus custom trips for filmmakers, researchers, and anyone chasing something off the standard itinerary.
